Where did you grow up? I grew up in a small town in southern Illinois and lived in Illinois through college.
How did you become a part of JC? My husband and I found Journeys
Crossing in 2006, shortly after we moved to Montgomery County from the
Midwest. We got involved in youth ministry at JC from the
beginning, and I joined the staff in 2012.
Favorite book(s)? I read just about anything except Sci Fi (sorry- don't hate!). Books I really like include: Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney, Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne, Seven by Jen Hatmaker, and Jesus Feminist by Sarah Bessey. I also love most stuff by Jodi Picoult, Francis Chan, David Baldacci, Kristin Hannah, and Laura Numeroff.
What’s on your iPod? Country, latin stuff, jazz, pop, christian "oldies" and some newer stuff. I love David Crowder, Garth Brooks, Michael Buble, Taylor Swift, and Billy Joel, just to name just a few!
Favorite vacation spot? Is it sad if I say Disney World? :) Ok, honestly, a home for orphaned and abandoned children in central Mexico is one of my absolute favorite places to go each year. Not a traditional vacay spot, but I simply love it there. And then, yep, Disney World!
Favorite food(s)? Mexican food (the real stuff!), Chicago style pizza, chocolate of any variety, and homemade biscuits!
Favorite pastime(s)? Reading, spending time with my family, travel, hanging with friends, board games, baseball, and baking.
Favorite TV show? All time favorite TV show is The West Wing. Also, Parenthood, and The Voice,
What is one unique fact about yourself? I actually have my motorcycle license. :) I grew up riding 4-wheelers and motorcycles all the time as a kid and teenager and got my license in college. Since moving to this area, I don't ride anymore, except for on occasion when we visit family back in the midwest.
